Silkworm Pattern Bronze Dagger-axe
The Warring States
Unearthed at Jiaotong Lane of Chengdu
25.2 cm long, 6.3 cm wide
The both sides of the upper blade are decorated with beast-face patterns. The two sides of the butt end have silkworm patterns on them, an indicator that Shu people planted mulberries, domesticated wild silkworms and produced silk as far back as the pre-Qin period.
