Appreciation

The exhibition showed 141 pieces (sets) of original calligraphy and painting works created by Wu Yifeng who was the master of modern painting. The exhibition included Wu’s exquisite art works at different periods, when he was studying in Shanghai, sketching in Southwest China, researching in the Min River and the Jialing River as well as in Sichuan. The exhibition reviewed the artistic career of this great calligrapher and painter in the 20th century through a complete and abundant display of his art works. Besides, it further expanded the reputation and influence of Chengdu calligraphy and painting in China. The publicity of distinguished representatives in Chengdu calligraphy and painting field promoted Chengdu’s art industry and contributed to the inheritance of Ba and Shu civilizations and the promotion of Sichuan culture.
