In the autumn of 2016, 119 pieces (sets) of cultural relics from the Palace Museum, which show the close relationship between the Qianlong Emperor and Sichuan, gained huge popularity in the public and were visited over 630,000 person/times in less than two months after its opening. It received more than 210,000 visitors from all over the world during the National Day holidays alone with average daily visits exceeding 30,000 and maximum visits exceeding 34,000, setting a new record for exhibitions of its kind in China.

During the Qianlong Emperor Special Exhibition, Chengdu Museum provided free interpretation services 587 times in total: regular free interpretation 291 times, official interpretation 270 times, and student team interpretation 26 times. A free audio guide service was also available, benefiting 39,473 people. In addition, 30 social education activities themed by various special exhibitions and 4 special lectures were launched with an attendance of over 1,000. Visitors showed great enthusiasm for such events, and the seats were occupied within half an hour.

The continued popularity of the Qianlong Emperor Special Exhibition created a grand scene with a strong cultural ambience, where the public can enjoy an unprecedented cultural feast. This exhibition produced immeasurable social and cultural benefits.

The exhibition was hosted by the Palace Museum, Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism (Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics Administration) and Chengdu Culture, Radio and TV, Press and Publication Bureau (Chengdu Cultural Relics Administration), and organized by the Chengdu Museum.
